APTASIA ANEMONES (rock anemone)-those little nasty brown anemones that creep into your reef tank without your invitation and spread to bother all other inverts. The rock anemone, or aptasia anemone is the #1 complaint of the marine hobbyist. One or two are no problem, but in a short time you could have one or two hundred! Slowly they encroach on your corals, stinging them as they get closer and closer. Eventually, they will win out, killing the other invert completely. But there is hope!
HOW DO YOU GET RID OF THE ROCK ANEMONE?
YOU COULD:
Inject them with boiling water and calcium hydroxide but either they retreat into holes before you can get them, you miss them, or the injection doesn't bother them
Try scraping them off , but this only causes more of them
Try peppermint shrimp, but watch, there are a bunch of species, all known as peppermint shrimp
Add a copperband butterfly fish and watch as your aptasia, and other inverts disappear
UNTIL NOW!
APTASIA AWAY™- A reef safe compound that will rid your tank of these unwanted rock anemone creatures. Simpli inject these anemones with a small amount and they are history. SOME OF THE TIME, JUST GETTING CLOSE TO THE ANEMONE IS GOOD ENOUGH BUT GETTING IT INTO THEM IS A SURE THING.
