HONEST KITCHEN DEHYDRATED RAW DIETS

All of the dehydrated raw dog food products from Honest Kitchen are formulated to meet the AAFCO nutrient profiles for dogs and you don't have to add anything to make them 'complete'. However, the original idea behind these diets was as a base for a raw or other home made diet and to facilitate that, they are somewhat 'lite' in terms of fat and protein, so that your own choice of raw, or cooked, meat can be added, if desired.

It is entirely a matter of personal choice (and your dog's taste!) whether you add in extra meat and other ingredients, or not. Most people with younger and more active dogs like to mix in the additional meat, and those with senior or overweight animals usually prefer to feed the organic dog food alone.

VERVE- The original recipe! This food is ideal for adult maintenance and for dogs who do well with some grain in their diets. Verve is a low fat, low calorie formula, with beef as the protein source.

EMBARK- Embark is a brand new recipe for all life stages. This diet is made with limited carbohydrates and high protein to support muscle structure and function, and promote lean body mass. It is particularly suited to puppies and more active dogs and is ideal for those who are intolerant of grains.

Feeding Guidelines & Hydration Amounts

The following daily amounts (DRY quantity) should be adjusted to suit your individual dog's requirements, which vary according to age, breed and level of daily activity.

Up to 10 lbs....................................1/2 Cup

Up to 30 lbs.................................... 1 Cup

Up to 50 lbs.................................... 2 Cups

Up to 70 lbs.................................... 2 1/4 Cups

Up to 90 lbs.................................... 2 3/4 Cups

A full standard US Measuring Cup of dehydrated food (which is 8 oz by volume or 4 oz by weight) will hydrate to make about 1lb of fresh food.

Half to one cup of extra meat or other ingredients may be mixed in with each cup of food, once hydrated.
