The Buddy Bowl® consists of three sturdy molded polycarbonate pieces which snap together with a positive locking seal. It's unique three-part construction creates two chambers for water supply: the funnel-shaped drinking chamber, which allows pets access to a constantly-replenishing supply of liquid, and the containment chamber, which houses a generous supply of water. A gravity-activated valve near top of funnel piece allows air into the Supply Chamber as water is depleted, but closes when the bowl is upside-down, preventing water from the supply chamber from exiting.

WATER FOUNTAINS
In nature, moving water is much fresher than stagnant water. The movement constantly breaks the surface tension of the water and draws oxygen from the air into the water. This process is called aeration and it makes water more appealing to drink. Pets may be drawn by instinct to moving water for this reason.
